Equalture is a Dutch HR tech company that’s on a mission to shape the world of unbiased hiring. The goal is to provide each and every candidate with an equal opportunity to show their talents and potential. They have developed a set of neuroscientific assessments, that measure cognitive abilities and behavioural traits, allowing you to evaluate candidates based on data instead of gut feeling.

Lever's integration with Equalture allows you to seamlessly invite candidates to take Equalture's assessments from within Lever.

In this article you will read how to:

Enable the Lever/Equalture integration

  • Log in to your Equalture dashboard. Go to the Integrations section of your Settings and click on Integrate button beside Lever.

  • You will then be brought to the Lever log-in page. Please log in to your Lever account.

  • Then, go to Settings in your Lever profile and click on 'Integrations and API' on the left-hand side. In the section at the top called 'Webhooks', you will see that a unique webhook URL has been generated and automatically added to the section named 'Candidate stage change'. You need to turn this switch on.

NOTE: Please don't delete the webhook. If you do you will have to set up the integration again from scratch.

  • Next, go to 'Pipeline and archive reasons' in the sidebar on the left and add Equalture as a stage in your pipeline. Click on the blue 'Customise the pipeline stage' button. You'll then be able to add new stages. Please create two stages. The first stage should be called 'Equalture Assessment Stage' and the second stage should be called 'Equalture completed' (this last stage is optional.) Please note that the names of the stages should be exactly as they appear in the article (including capital letters) otherwise the integration won't work.

  • (Only necessary when using the Equalture completed stage) After this, click on 'More' at the top and then on 'Automation'. Add a new workflow with the following automation rule; when Tag added is Equalture:Assessment Completed, Change stage to Equalture Completedstage. This means that all applicants who complete the Equalture assessment will be visible in a separate stage in the pipeline so you can easily keep track.

NOTE: If you would like to be notified when an applicant completes the Equalture assessment, you can create an automation rule for this in Lever.

Set up the assessment on the Equalture stage

  • In your Equalture dashboard, go to the >Jobs tab and click on Create a Job in the top right corner.

  • First, select whether you would like to use an existing Job from your ATS. You can do this by clicking on 'Assessment' in the Job Type step. See screenshot below:

  • You need to create a different assessment per open job.

  • Click on Publish. A tag will then be created, which you need for the next step.

Use the Equalture integration

  • Once you have created an assessment in Equalture, you then need to link this to a job in Lever.

  • Either create a new job or edit one of the existing jobs in Lever and in the 'Tags' section on the right copy and paste the tag that was generated in the previous step in the following format; Equalture:{replace-this-with-the-tag}. Click on 'Save'.

  • Now, when candidates apply for a job through your career site and they land in Lever, you can advance them to the Equalture Assessment Stage or you can create another automation rule that sends the assessment out automatically to anyone who applies.

  • To do this, go back to 'Automation' and click on '+ New workflow'. Then copy the rule shown in the image below. In the 'continue if' section, you can choose specifically which roles you would like this rule to apply to.

  • Once a candidate is in the 'Equalture Assessment Stage' they will receive an email from Equalture inviting them to complete the assessment.

  • You can see which candidates have been sent the Equalture assessment because they will automatically receive an 'Equalture completed' tag in their candidate profile on Lever (see image below).

  • You can find a summary of a candidate's assessment results in the Notes of their Lever profile as well as a link to the candidate's full Equalture Candidate Profile, including explanations for each of their scores.

  • Important: This is a private link, meaning that you need to be a User in Equalture to open the link.
